FROM FREEDOM TO FUTURE – INDEPENDENCE DAY 2026

Sacred Heart Convent School, Sri Ganganagar, celebrated the 80th Independence Day of our nation with great patriotic fervour, pride and gratitude. The celebration was graced by our esteemed Chief Guest, Major Prince Joy Fernandez, from sadhu Wali Cantt whose distinguished presence added immense dignity and significance to the occasion. Major Prince Joy Fernandez was commissioned as a Class I Gazetted Officer in the Regiment of Artillery in 2013. His inspiring journey reflects leadership, service and a spirit of excellence.

The programme commenced with the Tilak Ceremony, followed by a warm welcome to the Chief Guest accompanied by the School Band. The Flag Hoisting, National Anthem and National Pledge set the tone for a solemn and patriotic celebration.

The House-wise Parade reflected discipline and unity, while the Prayer Dance added grace and devotion to the occasion. The Welcome Address by the Rev. Father Manager was a gracious and meaningful expression of hospitality and goodwill. His words beautifully set the spirit of the celebration, reminding everyone that true freedom finds its meaning in faith, responsibility, unity and service to the nation.

The Welcome Address was followed by a stirring Patriotic Group Song and vibrant cultural presentations by the Blue, Yellow, Green and Red Houses, celebrating freedom, patriotism, the strength of women and the valour of India’s heroes.

Niharika of Class XI delivered a speech that reflected the true spirit of patriotism. Class VIII students filled the stage with grace and pride as they performed their group dance. And the impressive Mass PT Display showcased the students’ confidence, creativity, discipline and team spirit. The Principal’s Presidential Address further reflected the school’s commitment to nurturing responsible and compassionate citizens.

The highlight of the celebration was the inspiring address by our Chief Guest, Major Prince Joy Fernandez appreciated the Management, staff and students for presenting such a well-organised and memorable programme. He reminded the students that the future of the nation rests in the hands of the young generation. His inspiring words encouraged the students to dream boldly, remain disciplined, serve the nation with sincerity.

A special moment of pride was the felicitation of the Class X and XII toppers, followed by the presentation of a memento to the Chief Guest as a token of gratitude. The programme concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks and the School Anthem, leaving everyone with renewed pride in our nation and in the values of unity, discipline, service and freedom.
