Sacred Heart Convent School, Sri Ganganagar, celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great fervour and patriotic spirit.
The Chief Guest of the day was Lt. Col. Vikas Dhuria, 1 Para Special Forces, a proud alumnus of our school, whose presence added a special energy to the celebration.
The programme began with a ceremonial welcome by the school band, leading the Chief Guest and dignitaries to the main pavilion, followed by the Flag Hoisting and a salute during the March Past presented with immaculate precision by the four Houses. A graceful prayer dance then set the tone for the cultural programme.
Rev. Sr. Soumya, Principal, warmly welcomed the gathering, after which the audience witnessed a vibrant display of patriotism through soulful songs, inspiring speeches, and energetic group dances. Rev. Fr. Manager, in his thoughtful message, reminded everyone that “we have gained freedom, but are we truly free?” — a question that stirred deep reflection and encouraged all to think about freedom in its truest sense.
The atmosphere reached a crescendo as the girls performed a lively Bhangra in vibrant colours, filling the stage with unmatched enthusiasm.
The Chief Guest, Lt. Col. Vikas Dhuria, in his Independence Day address, recollected his cherished school days, expressed gratitude towards his Alma Mater, and inspired students to cultivate self-discipline, nurture gratitude, and stay rooted in faith. His words left a lasting impression on all present.
He was honoured with a memento by Rev. Fr. Jobin and Rev. Sr. Soumya, Principal, as a token of love and appreciation which was followed by singing of the School Anthem.
The celebration came to a close with hearts filled with patriotism and pride, inspiring everyone to uphold the true spirit of freedom and unity.
